Sports Day 2014

On Thursday 29th May 2014 we had our Fun Activity Day. It was part of our Activity week and we were delighted with a beautiful day.

We has games in the school playground, bouncing castles in the field near the school, cyber coach in the school hall, a basketball blitz in the sports complex and a visit to the town playground. Everyone went home with a smiling – the best day in school this year !

Alex and Claire visit our school

Today Alex and Claire visited our school to show us percussion instruments such as the meridian/ the drums (including the snare drum) and cartoon type instruments that make cartoon noises. They were doing cartoon songs on the meridian. They said that the meridian is like a piano with the same keys and notes just made of wood. They also told us about the snare drum and that in the olden times they used a donkey skull as a snare drum because when they hit the top of the head the teeth would rattle.

Then we did a storm piece. For the first minute we did clicking, then rubbing our hands then patting our lips and did one big stamp! We had great fun and I think Alex and Claire had fun too!
